Texas EnteroSorbents, Inc. (TxESI) Mission:
TxESI will develop and market products that will mitigate the effects of environmental toxins - specifically aflatoxin in food products and prevent aflatoxicosis in humans.
Additionally, TxESI will develop and market products that are the combination of Calcium Aluminosilicate (CAS) and Acidic Calcium Sulfate (ACS-Mionix Corporation) for animal and human preservative applications in the food and feed industries.
The human aflatoxin mitigant is called UPSN. When dosed in humans, it can significantly decrease the uptake and resorption of aflatoxin and its metabolites. This fact was recently demonstrated in a double-blind placebo trial in Africa reported at the IUPAC in Istanbul, Turkey.
Our food-preservative, toxin-mitigating products are called Clay Acid Product Combinations (CAPC) and have uses as food additives, antimicrobials in food contact packaging, and many others. These products can also bind toxins in a dry food matrix.
