What is Texas EnteroSorbents, Inc.?
Welcome to Texas EnteroSorbents, Inc. (TxESI). With its formation June 26, 2005, TxESI became the first private company funded and owned by Texas A&M University System (TAMUS) as the result of innovative technology research conducted through TAMUS.
On July 17, 2005, TxESI in cooperation with TAMUS filed a US Provisional Patent for the composition of matter that is the combination of Calcium Aluminosilicate (CAS) and Acidic Calcium Sulfate (ACS - Mionix Corporation) for food additive industy applications. In February 2006, TAMUS sold 70% of its holding in TxESI to Mionix Corporation, the maker of ACS. TAMUS retains 30% ownership.

Who Leads TxESI?
On July 2, 2005, after years of serving as a Biomedical Consultant, Chief Medical Officer and Regulatory Affairs Director for various pharmaceutical and medical device organizations and research institutions, Dr. Robert H. Carpenter, DVM MS, was appointed President of Texas EnteroSorbents, Inc. Along with TAMUS, he recognized the potential in the unique properties of CAPC and the potential to greatly impact food additive industries. Further research led to the filing of other patents and additional applications and uses in other industries.
